Mercedes-Benz recently showcased the new India-spec CLA 250+ AMG Line Long Range variant and also conducted a national media drive. The company has now revealed that there will also be an entry-level CLA 200 variant on sale in India, which will bring the charm and aura of the CLA more affordable for buyers. Let’s see what the CLA 200 will get.
Base CLA 200 variants
Although the launch prices of the Mercedes CLA 250+ and CLA 200 have not been announced yet, the tentative prices have been revealed. The estimated price of CLA 200 is Rs 55 lakh (ex-sh) and the tentative price of CLA 250+ is Rs 59 lakh (ex-sh). Bookings for both are currently going on at a token amount of Rs 1.5 lakh (ex-sh).
Pre-booking customers will get a complimentary 22 kW wall charger. Deliveries of the CLA 250+ will begin by the end of April 2026 and deliveries of the CLA 200 will begin by the end of June 2026. As far as design is concerned, the CLA 200 Progressive Line will look slightly different from the CLA 250+ AMG Line due to their respective styling packs.
It should be noted that the CLA 250+ that we recently drove in Bengaluru will come with the AMG Line styling package and the Long Range Battery pack, which promises a range of 792 km on a single charge. The response clearly came from customers who wanted an additional version of the CLA EV to appeal to a wider range of buyer preferences.
The CLA 200 enters the base variant. It will come with the Progressive Line styling pack as standard and comes with a standard range battery pack that promises a range of 542 km on a single charge. The most notable elements of the CLA 200 Progressive Line are the comfortable seats, multi-function sports leather steering wheel and it will be available in two trim options.
Similar equipment between CLA 250+ and CLA 250
Mercedes-Benz India has confirmed that the equipment offered with the CLA 200 will be the same as what we saw with the CLA 250+. Except for the above elements like comfortable seats. The CLA 200 will have fixed glass roof, dual zone climate control, Nvidia powered MB.OS, 14-inch infotainment screen, 10.25-inch instrument cluster and other elements.
Also, powered seats, extendable thigh support, flush pop-out door handles, Burmester audio system, floating center console, frameless windows, high-quality materials, adaptive LED headlights, connected LED light bars, 3-pointed star insignia in headlights and tail lights, animated welcome and goodbye functions and other features will be common between the two.
