It appears that the price of Maruti Suzuki’s much-awaited electric SUV, Evitara has been leaked online ahead of its official India launch. Although the company has not yet formally announced the prices, the Evitara Alpha variant is listed at Rs 24.79 lakh (ex-showroom) on Maruti’s Nexa website with some authorized dealers.
Interestingly, bookings with this displayed price are also being accepted at select dealerships. At the time of publishing, the figure of Rs 24.79 lakh is visible on some dealer portals, raising the question whether this is the starting price reveal or simply a backend error.

Possible top-spec 61 kWh variant
Based on the variant hierarchy and previous reveals, the top-of-the-line Alpha trim equipped with the larger 61 kWh battery pack is likely to carry a tag of Rs 24.79 lakh. However, prices for other variants – including the one powered by a smaller 49 kWh battery – are not listed yet. Maruti Suzuki has not yet issued any official clarification.
Launch delayed despite production starting
This development is especially interesting as production of the Evitara has already started at Maruti’s Gujarat plant. The rollout was formally flagged off in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Exports to markets like UK, Europe and Japan have also started.

The media drive for India is complete, and detailed reviews – including ours – have already been published. Nevertheless, the official domestic launch and price announcement is still pending.

BaaS strategy and charging network
Maruti Suzuki has also announced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model with subscription and assured buyback options. The company plans to initially install over 2,000 charging points across 1,100 cities, with the ambition to support 1,00,000+ public charging points by 2030.
Official price or glitch?
Whether Rs 24.79 lakh is actually the final ex-showroom price of the Alpha 61 kWh variant or simply a premature listing remains to be seen. If confirmed, the price seems to be higher than other electric SUVs on sale in India. An official announcement from Maruti Suzuki is expected soon. Until then, the leaked pricing has certainly increased interest in what could be India’s most significant EV launch from the country’s largest carmaker.
