
Mahindra had a strong start to the calendar year 2026, registering total sales of 63,510 units in January 2026. This represents a strong year-on-year (YoY) growth of 25.37% compared to 50,659 units sold in January 2025. Even on a month-on-month (MoM) basis, the company registered a healthy growth of 24.66% as compared to 50,946 units sold in December. 2025, underscoring the continued demand momentum across its SUV portfolio.
Mahindra Sales Breakup January 2026 – YoY
Scorpio/Scorpio N remained Mahindra’s best-selling nameplate with 15,542 units sold in January 2026. While year-on-year growth was relatively flat at 0.65%, the Scorpio brand remains a consistent volume driver for the company. Despite a marginal 2.16% MoM decline, Scorpio’s steady performance reflects its strong brand equity and continued demand in both urban and semi-urban markets.

Thar/Thar ROXX emerged as one of the biggest growth contributors during the month. With sales of 13,418 units, the lifestyle SUV registered an impressive growth of 77.56% YoY. On a sequential basis, volumes grew by 43.68% in December 2025, highlighting the growing attraction for the expanded Thar lineup. The addition of new variants and wider appeal beyond hardcore off-road enthusiasts seems to be working in Mahindra’s favour.
Bolero also delivered a strong performance with sales of 11,841 units in January 2026. This represents 36.39% YoY growth and 11.59% MoM growth. Bolero is enjoying strong acceptance in rural and semi-urban areas, strengthening Mahindra’s dominance in utility-centric segments.

The XUV700/7XO range contributed 10,133 units, showing a growth of 20.65% year-on-year. The sharp MoM increase of 611.59% suggests supply normalization or backlog clearance during the month. Meanwhile, the
Mahindra’s new-age electric portfolio is gradually strengthening. The The recently launched XEV 9s added 612 units in its initial phase. However, XUV400 volumes declined 49.31% year-on-year to 146 units, possibly reflecting a shift in focus towards new EV platforms.
Overall, Mahindra’s January 2026 sales performance shows a balanced growth story. Strong traction for Thar and Bolero, consistent sales of Scorpio and XUV700 and expanded EV lineup have collectively helped the company consolidate its position in India’s highly competitive SUV market.
