Compared to the standard 2-year warranty for most KTM bikes, the 4-year warranty instills more confidence among buyers

Ever since Bajaj Auto acquired full controlling stake in KTM, several important decisions have been taken to boost business efficiency and finances. We have seen developments such as global empowerment, refinancing and debt resets, and divestment of non-core assets. In the latest decision, KTM has announced a longer warranty of 4 years for its road-legal bikes. Let’s see the details.

ktm 4 year warranty

KTM offers a standard warranty and a 4-year extended coverage known as the ‘KTM Premium Manufacturer Warranty’. This extended coverage was previously only available with select models. KTM has now introduced a 4-year warranty for all its street-legal bikes. This is applicable for the entire Street range starting from MY2025. This covers all engine sizes and segments of KTM’s Street range.

4 years warranty coverage will be available on Adventure, Dual Sport, Naked, Supersport, Sports Tourer and Supermoto bikes. However, this extended coverage will not only apply to track and closed course competition bikes. KTM’s 4-year warranty is completely free. In this, users do not need to pay anything extra. Additionally, a 4-year warranty automatically applies for eligible bikes. Users do not need to follow any specific process to avail the 4 years extended warranty.

Another important aspect is that KTM’s 4-year warranty applies to the bike, not the owner. Even if the bike is sold to a new owner, the 4-year warranty will still be applicable. However, users must ensure that all servicing and maintenance work is done at authorized KTM dealerships. Servicing or repairs done at third party outlets are likely to void the warranty.

Roadside Assistance for select European markets

KTM’s 4-year premium manufacturer warranty is applicable worldwide. For select European markets, KTM is also offering Service Activated Roadside Assistance (SARA). It is designed to encourage KTM owners to get their bikes serviced timely and from authorized dealerships. Under SARA, KTM owners can extend their roadside assistance coverage by up to 12 months if they get their annual service done at an authorized KTM dealer. This ensures additional peace of mind for eligible KTM users in Europe.

Consumer-friendly measures like 4 years extended warranty will significantly contribute to increasing confidence among existing owners and new buyers. Earlier, we had also seen KTM absorbing the full GST-linked cost burden for bikes above 350 cc. On the other hand, KTM’s sub-350 cc bikes have benefited from the GST rate cut.

Total sales (domestic + exports) in January 2026 stood at 16,411 units, registering a massive growth of 143.70% YoY. Domestic sales in January 2026 grew by 56.14% YoY and 70.16% MoM. KTM is also adapting to the new GST regime with plans to launch new 350cc models. These will be sold along with the existing 390cc model. This approach will benefit both budget-conscious buyers and performance enthusiasts who prefer higher-spec machines.
