Actor Nick Pasqual, who briefly appeared in the sitcom How I Met Your Mother, has been convicted on multiple serious charges in a violent attack on his former girlfriend, Allie Shehorn. A Los Angeles jury found the 36-year-old guilty on all counts, nearly two years after the incident. He now faces a possible life sentence.
The verdict was delivered following a jury trial in San Fernando, California. Pasqual was convicted of attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary with a person present, multiple counts of injuring a spouse or cohabitant, and one count of forcible rape linked to an earlier incident.
Details of the case
According to court records, the attack took place on May 23, 2024, when Pasqual allegedly entered Shehorn’s home in Sunland and stabbed her more than 20 times. The assault left her critically injured and in need of extensive medical treatment.
Reports cited in court proceedings also referred to a separate incident from April 2024, in which Pasqual was convicted of forcible rape.
A friend of Shehorn, quoted in media reports, said she underwent multiple surgeries and faced a long recovery following the attack. The case, widely followed by the public, has highlighted the severity of the injuries and the nature of the charges brought against the actor.
What happens next
Pasqual now faces a maximum sentence of life in state prison. His sentencing is scheduled for June 2, 2026, in Los Angeles, where a judge will determine the final term.
The verdict has prompted strong reactions online, with many expressing shock over the case. Some noted the contrast between Pasqual’s minor appearance in a light-hearted sitcom and the gravity of the crimes he has been convicted of.
For Shehorn, the verdict marks a significant step towards closure, as the legal proceedings move into the sentencing phase.
