Due to rising petrol prices and increasing environmental awareness in India, common people are also turning to electric vehicles. It is noteworthy that Honda, a popular brand among middle class families, has launched its popular Activa in electric form. Meanwhile, TVS has already made a strong mark in the market with its iCube. Let’s see which one of these two family electric scooters is the best.

Battery and charging technology

The biggest difference between these two scooters is in the battery system.

What’s new in Honda Activa E: It features Honda’s replaceable battery technology. This means you don’t have to wait for hours for a charge. You can go to a battery station, drop in an empty battery, and have it fully charged within minutes. However, since both the batteries are mounted under the seat, there is not much storage space in the trunk of the Activa E.

TVS iQube Comfort: It has a fixed battery. It should be charged at home only. But, it offers a larger storage space of 30 to 32 litres. It is an ideal family scooter for carrying daily essentials or a helmet.

Technically both are equal. The Activa e-scooter has advanced features like turn-by-turn navigation, smart key and a large 7-inch TFT screen with driving modes. The iQube has features like collision and follow-through warning, Bluetooth connectivity and reverse assist. Whether you’re driving alone, or with someone sitting behind you, the ride quality is comfortable.

If you travel long distances to office or various errands daily, if you need more power and cannot spare much time for charging, then the Activa e-scooter is a good option.

If you need more space to accommodate the entire family, vegetables or other items then the TVS iQube is a good option.
