Cars are continuously becoming expensive in the Indian market. If we leave out the vehicles coming from the UK, then vehicles of almost every brand have either become expensive in the past or are about to become so. Now a new name Kia has also been added to this list. The company is going to increase the prices of its cars from July 1.

Prices of branded cars will increase by 2 percent. The company has not yet announced the price according to the model and variant. This can be announced in the coming days. Kia has said that the increase in prices will affect both ICE and EV cars.

Why is Kia increasing the price?

Kia has attributed the increase in input cost and overall operation cost as the reason for the rising prices of cars. In its official statement, the automaker said, ‘The change in prices became necessary due to increasing input and operation costs.’ The company has also said that the minimum burden of this increase has been passed on to the customers.

Other companies have also increased prices

It has premium vehicles of EV6 and EV9 brands. Like Kia, Tata Motors, Mahindra, Mercedes-Benz, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai Motor India, Nishan Motors and other companies have also announced to increase the prices of their cars. Whereas the country’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has also announced an increase in the prices of its cars by Rs 30 thousand. However, Maruti has kept its small cars safe from price hike. However, the prices of some cars in India are also going to reduce. But there are ultra luxury cars, which will be cheaper due to lower tariffs under India and UK FTA.
