Now a new name Kia has also been added to this list. The company is going to increase the prices of its cars from July 1.
Prices of branded cars will increase by 2 percent. The company has not yet announced the price according to the model and variant. This can be announced in the coming days. Kia has said that the increase in prices will affect both ICE and EV cars.
Why is Kia increasing the price?
Kia has attributed the increase in input cost and overall operation cost as the reason for the rising prices of cars. In its official statement, the automaker said, ‘The change in prices became necessary due to increasing input and operation costs.’ The company has also said that the minimum burden of this increase has been passed on to the customers.

Kia has announced an increase in the prices of cars by 2 percent. This increase will be according to the model and variants. The company’s portfolio includes EV cars along with petrol and diesel. The company sells Seltos, Sonet, Carens Clavis, Ciros, Carens, Carnival, EV6 and EV9 in India.
Other companies have also increased prices
It has premium vehicles of EV6 and EV9 brands. Like Kia, Tata Motors, Mahindra, Mercedes-Benz, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai Motor India, Nishan Motors and other companies have also announced to increase the prices of their cars. All of them have cited the increase in input cost and operation cost as the reason for the increase in vehicle prices.

Whereas the country’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has also announced an increase in the prices of its cars by Rs 30 thousand. However, Maruti has kept its small cars safe from price hike.
