In the previous post, we had detailed about the mid-spec Techno+ trim level of Renault Duster and all its exterior and interior features and technology. In this post, we will take a closer look at the second base trim of the Duster, which is called Evolution and is located above the base Authentic trim level. The Evolution is much like the base 1.3 Turbo trim, making it an interesting proposition for many.
Renault Duster Evolution Second Base Variant
With the new Renault Duster, the base Authentic trim level comes with only one engine and gearbox combination. It is a 1.0L turbo petrol engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Powertrain options start with the Evolution trim, which is the second base trim level in the Duster’s variant lineup.

The Evolution trim offers a 1.3L turbo petrol engine option with 6-speed manual and 6-speed DCT options. In terms of prices, the Evolution trim starts at Rs 11.69 lakh for the 1.0 Turbo MT, Rs 12.99 lakh for the 1.3L Turbo MT and Rs 14.49 Lakh for the 1.3L Turbo DCT (all prices ex-sh). In the Area of Interest video, we can see a detailed walkaround of the Evolution trim.
On the outside, the Duster Evolution trims include most of the essential features. These include LED low beam and halogen high beam highlights, LED DRL and turn indicators, connected LED tail lights, LED rear fog lights, functional roof rails, shark fin antenna, 17-inch alloy wheels, rear defogger, rear washer and wiper etc.

Even the tires are 225-section with the Evolution trim. On the inside, the Evolution is the first trim level to offer an infotainment screen. It is a 10.1-inch unit with 6 ArcGIS tuned speakers with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It features a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, powered ORVMs, steering mounted controls for audio, telephony and cruise control and more.

Is it a well-rounded trim?
The AC system on the Duster Evolution trim is completely manual. However, there are rear AC vents. Front and rear armrest, all five adjustable headrests, remote flip key, stock audio controls behind the steering wheel, manually dimming IRVM, 2 USB Type-C ports at the front and rear, rear parking camera with adaptive guidelines and rear parcel shelf are also part of the package.
If you choose the Duster Evolution 1.3 Turbo DCT variant, Renault will offer you additional features like electronic parking brake with auto hold, paddle shifters and a slightly different center console. There is a boot release button on the key fob and Renault is offering a parcel shelf with the Duster Evolution trim.
