After unveiling the Taigun facelift in Mumbai last week, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India has launched it in the country. It is one of the stalwarts of the C segment 4.2 meter to 4.5 meter SUV space and takes on this fierce competition with refined aesthetics and a better equipment list. The launch price is Rs 11 lakh (ex-sh) and let’s take a closer look.
vw taigun facelift launched
Taigun facelift prices start at Rs 11 lakh (ex-sh) for the base Comfortline 1.0L TSI MT variant. Next is the Highline trim which is priced between Rs 12.7 lakh to Rs 13.8 lakh (ex-sh), the Highline Plus trim which is priced between Rs 14.3 lakh to Rs 15.45 lakh (ex-sh), the GT Line is priced between Rs 14.60 lakh to Rs 15.75 lakh (ex-sh).
We have the topline trim which is priced between Rs 16 lakh to Rs 17.18 lakh (ex-sh) and finally the GT Plus trim which is priced between Rs 19 lakh to Rs 19.3 lakh (ex-sh). The VW Taigun facelift can be made available in up to 9 colours. Another highlight of the Taigun facelift is its 75% buyback program for up to 3 years and 30,000 km of usage.
As standard, the Volkswagen Taigun facelift gets 40 features as standard. The most notable upgrades with this facelift are a new fascia with revised LED headlights with auto-leveling feature, new connected LED DRLs with illuminated logo, new connected rear tail lights with illuminated VW logo as part of the brake lights.
There are new designs for the alloy wheels and the 1.5L engine variant gets rear disc brakes for the first time. GT trims get other dedicated elements including red painted calipers, black alloys and GT badges. The most notable update is Aisin’s new 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, which is only offered with the smaller 1.0L engine variant.
