Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL) has been one of the most notable scooter manufacturers in the country with its Access and Burgman Street 125cc scooters. The company is currently not breaking benchmarks or sales charts where mainstream motorcycles are concerned with the Gixxer lineup being sidelined by Indian enthusiasts.
While Suzuki is coming up with new Gixxer models, the company is doubling down in the scooter segment with the updated Burgman Street with a design inspired by the Burgman 400. On April 2, we could see either a new Gixxer SF model or an updated Burgman Street. Let’s check out the possibilities.

Suzuki’s new teaser – New Burgman Street?
On its social media handle, Suzuki2Wheelers has teased a new product with twin LED headlight setup for the Indian market. In the teaser we can see a twin LED headlight setup and there are also LED DRLs in the same housing. There is Suzuki logo in the middle of these headlights. A similar setup can also be seen with the Bergman 400 Maxi scooter.
This teaser is highly likely to be the fascia of the new Suzuki Burgman Street facelift powered by a 125cc engine. The design is borrowed from the Burgman 400 which is sold in global markets with slight changes. We can see a slightly unique headlight shape and LED DRL signature with Suzuki logo positioning.

Suzuki Burgman Street test mules were spied during testing last year. Connecting the dots, one can guess that Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd is launching an updated Burgman Street in India. While there have been feature additions and OBD-2B compliance, this will be the first major update to the India-spec Burgman since it was first launched in 2018.
We can expect the Access to get a new fascia, updated side body panels, streamlined profile, more impressive road presence and a revised instrument cluster with a TFT display. One can expect new exhaust covers, revised tail lights and more practicality and functionality. The same 8 bhp and 10 Nm 125cc engine will work with alloy wheels and front disc brake option.

New Gixxer SF?
In the caption of Suzuki’s teaser, we can see a hashtag that reads Suzuki Motorcycle. It may refer to the name of the company, which is Suzuki Motorcycle India, or it may actually refer to Suzuki motorcycles. Since the company is updating the Gixxer lineup, this new teaser could be of the upcoming Gixxer SF and Gixxer SF 250.
Not much is known about these upcoming Gixxer motorcycle refreshes. Speculations suggest a new platform with better equipment and premium bicycle parts that could compete against rival brands at the highest level. More concrete details will be revealed on launch day on April 2.
