Motorcycle sales witnessed good growth in January 2026, with total sales of the top 10 models standing at 9,02,096 units, registering a growth of 20.27% year-on-year as compared to 7,50,060 units sold in January 2025. Most of the models in the list recorded positive growth, reflecting steady demand in the commuter and premium segments.

Hero Splendor continued to dominate the charts in January 2026 with sales of 3,24,019 units, up 24.90% from 2,59,431 units in the same month last year. It remained the best selling motorcycle in the country by a considerable margin. The second-place Honda Shine recorded 1,61,224 units but saw a marginal 4.20% decline compared to 1,68,290 units sold in January 2025.

Bajaj Pulsar took the third position with 1,29,600 units, up 24.52% from 1,04,081 units last year. Hero HF Deluxe stood at second position with 71,690 units, up 15.21% YoY, and maintained a strong hold in the entry-level commuter space. TVS Apache emerged as one of the strong performers in the mid-premium segment with sales of 51,191 units, up 48.33% from 34,511 units a year ago. TVS Raider also registered a solid growth of 31.73%, with 36,069 units sold compared to 27,382 units in January 2025.

Honda CB Unicorn registered 35,710 units, registering a growth of 34.71% YoY, while Royal Enfield Classic 350 continued its steady performance with 34,981 units, up 14.38% from 30,582 units last year. Bajaj Platina sold 33,520 units, a growth of 22.62% YoY, highlighting the sustained demand in the budget commuter segment. The highest percentage growth in the top 10 came from Hero Glamour, which sold 24,092 units, up 147.99% compared to 9,715 units sold in January 2025. This sharp growth contributed significantly to the overall segment growth.

OEM-wise analysis shows that Hero MotoCorp continues to dominate the motorcycle segment, with three models in the top 10 – Splendor, HF Deluxe and Glamour. Combined sales stood at 4,19,801 units in January 2026, a strong growth of 26.68% year-on-year. A big boost came from the Glamour, which registered a growth of nearly 148%, while the Splendor remained the best-selling motorcycle in the country. This reinforces Hero’s strong hold on the commuter segment, which continues to sell in huge volumes.

TVS Motor emerged as one of the fastest growing OEMs in the top 10, contributing 87,260 units along with Apache and Raider, registering a 40.99% YoY growth. Bajaj Auto also registered a good growth of 24.13% due to the strong performance of Pulsar and Platina. Honda’s growth remained relatively steady at 1.10%, as Shine saw a slight decline despite solid gains from CB Unicorn.

Royal Enfield maintained a steady double-digit growth of 14.38% with the Classic 350, highlighting the consistent demand in the mid-capacity premium segment. Overall, sales of commuter motorcycles continued to grow, while sporty and mid-premium offerings supported the growth momentum.
