Compared to the first generation Cross, the second generation model bears more visual similarity to the new generation Toyota RAV4.

Suzuki has been selling the Across compact crossover SUV in Europe since 2020. It is basically a rebadged version of the Toyota RAV4. It is worth noting that Suzuki is also exporting the Victoris SUV to select markets with ‘Across’ badging. This is a completely separate product and is not related to European Across.

Following the 6th generation update for the RAV4 in December 2025, Suzuki has now updated the Cross for European markets. The new-gen Suzuki Cross gets cosmetic touch-ups, PHEV powertrain and better safety and connectivity features. Let’s see the details.

2026 Suzuki Cross – What’s new?

The new Suzuki Cross gets an updated front fascia, with a new grille, sharper headlamps and a stronger bumper. The overall profile closely resembles the RAV4 Adventure variant sold in China. In the US, this version of the RAV4 is available as the Woodland Edition. Color options for the 2026 Suzuki Cross include Massive Grey, Ever Rest, Super White and Attitude Black.

Inside too, most of the equipment remains the same as the new generation RAV4. Most controls are organized in a logical format, an approach Suzuki refers to as ‘island architecture’. This layout minimizes clutter and allows easy, intuitive access to frequently used items like infotainment, transmission and audio controls.

The interior of the Suzuki Cross is spacious and offers ample legroom for all passengers. Key features include a 10-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat and 8-way electrically adjustable front passenger seat. The front seats use a leather-cloth combo and have a three-stage heating system. Other key features include a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster. A head-up display has also been added, which displays information such as speed and navigation directions on the windshield.

increased security

The 2026 Suzuki Cross offers a safety experience for the users. An advanced pre-collision system, consisting of a radar and a forward-facing camera, effectively detects pedestrians, cyclists and cross-traffic. The pre-collision system works in conjunction with emergency steering assist (ESA) to initiate actions such as gentle braking and steering correction.

Other safety features include Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist and Emergency Driving Stop System. It also includes features like lane departure alert, lane change alert, driver monitor, proactive driving assist, front cross traffic alert and panoramic camera with 3D view.

Advanced PHEV Powertrain

While the Toyota RAV4 has HEV (self-charging) and PHEV (plug-in hybrid) powertrain options, the Suzuki Cross is only available with a PHEV drivetrain. This setup includes a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 143 hp. When used in combination with two electric motors, maximum combined output is 304 hp. The Suzuki Cross is equipped with a 22.7 kWh battery pack.

Most of the daily driving needs can be met in electric mode. The PHEV powertrain is also suitable for long trips. The top speed of the SUV is 180 km/h and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. The 2026 Suzuki Cross uses the e-Four AWD system, which is designed for both performance and efficiency.

The electric motor mounted on the front axle supplies 204 hp and 271 Nm torque. In comparison, the rear mounted electric motor produces 55 hp and 123 Nm. Users can choose from driving modes of Normal, Eco, Sport and Manual e-Four Trail Mode. Trail mode is specifically designed for loose or slippery surfaces.
