Tata Motors recently updated its smallest SUV, the Punch, with a complete facelift and engine changes. The new 2026 Tata Punch is more powerful than before thanks to its revised design, improved interiors and more powerful turbo engine. Deliveries of the Punch facelift have started and buyers are taking home their favorite Punch SUV.
Delivery of 2026 Tata Punch begins
Launched at a starting price of Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-sh), the 2026 Punch has emerged as one of the most important vehicles for Tata Motors. The Punch facelift is offered in four attractive colors – Pristine White, Daytona Grey, Scientific (Blue), Caramel (Yellow), Bengal Rouge (Red) and Coorg Clouds (Silver).
Dual tone roof options (black or white) or are offered depending on the variants and colours. Bookings for the Punch facelift had started long ago through authorized dealerships and Tata’s official website. The Punch facelift can be purchased in six trim levels. These include Smart, Pure, Pure Plus, Adventure, Accomplished, Accomplished Plus S.
There are two engine options available with the Punch facelift. These include the 1.2L NA petrol which can also be equipped with i-CNG fitment and then for the first time, a higher performing 1.2L turbo petrol engine. With the i-CNG variant, Tata continues to offer dual cylinder technology that unlocks huge usable cargo volume.
The turbo petrol is the most interesting feature of the Punch facelift and prices start at Rs 8.29 lakh (ex-sh) with the Adventure trim and manual gearbox. It has a 6-speed gearbox, which is also a first for the Punch. If there is enough demand, Tata Motors will also offer a 6-speed DCA gearbox with this turbo petrol engine.
The output of this turbo engine is not limited and Tata is offering similar metrics to the Nexon and (now discontinued) Altroz racer at 120 PS of maximum power and 170 Nm of peak torque.
New Design, Interior Design
On the exterior, the 2026 Tata Punch receives some design modifications. For starters, the Punch facelift gets a new fascia with eyebrow-like LED DRLs, new vertical LED headlight setup, cornering fog lights, new 16-inch alloy wheels, connected LED tail lights and more. On the inside, we now get a new center console with a center armrest, a new steering wheel and more.
Feature bumps include a new TFT instrument cluster that is more informative than its predecessor. A wireless charging pad, 65W fast charging, rear AC vents, auto headlights, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry and push-button start, cruise control and others are notable features with this SUV.
