Comcast’s Xfinity cable service was shut down for thousands of people in the United States on Monday afternoon.

More than 12,000 users are reporting an outage on the cable service operated by NBC’s parent company, According to down detectorA platform that tracks such outages based on reports from users.
According to the outage map shown on Down Detector, most of the outages were concentrated in New Hampshire, Texas, Delaware, Wyoming and Maine.
According to Down Detector, 77% of customers reported problems with cable TV services, 12% with broadband Internet and 8% with TV streaming.

Comcast Xfinity Outage Map
Comcast’s map of the Xfinity outage showed that urban centers across the country were affected. It included cities in the East and West Coast, states in the North and South, as well as parts of Central America.
The map showed outage reports concentrated in Boston, New York City, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Miami and large parts of Florida.
In the North, the most outages were reported in Minneapolis and Chicago. While in the south, Houston was affected. Denver customers also reported a large number of power outages.
In the east coast, the highest power outages were recorded in the north. A large number of power outages were reported in Portland, Salem and Seattle. Additionally, power outages were reported in areas around San Francisco and Carson City.

Comcast’s response
So far, Comcast or Xfinity have not acknowledged that the problem is widespread. Xfinity Support’s X account is answering questions on social media, asking customers to message them their service ID.

Comcast’s Xfinity is one of the largest cable and broadband services in the US. It serves approximately 11.27 million traditional cable TV subscribers in the United States. Its broadband user base is approximately 31.25 million strong.
