
After taking a look at the top 10 two-wheelers last month, let’s now take a look at the top 10 scooters in May 2026. India’s scooter market recorded strong growth in May 2026, with the top 10 scooters totaling 6,41,680 units. This was an increase of 23.06% compared to 5,21,433 units sold in May 2025, resulting in a volume increase of over 1.2 lakh units.
Top 10 Scooters May 2026
Honda Activa left India’s best selling scooter With sales of 2,28,955 units in May 2026. Compared to 1,90,713 units sold in May 2025, Activa registered a growth of 20.05% at 38,242 units. TVS Jupiter retained the second position with sales of 1,24,767 units. The scooter registered a strong growth of 27.83% year-on-year, comprising 27,161 units as compared to 97,606 units sold in May last year. Combined, Activa and Jupiter contributed 3,53,722 units. accounting for more than 55% of total sales generated by the top 10 scooters.

Suzuki Access remained the third best selling scooter in the country with sales of 75,729 units. Volume remained largely steady compared to 75,778 units sold a year ago, registering a marginal decline of 0.06%. The TVS iQube emerged as one of the fastest growing models in the list. Sales increased by 52.64% to 42,192 units in May 2025 from 27,642 units. Electric scooters achieved 6.58% share in total sales.
Bajaj Chetak stood second with sales of 38,376 units, up 50.26% from 25,540 units sold a year ago. Chetak’s share in total scooter sales was 5.98%. TVS Ntorq recorded sales of 34,127 units in May 2026, up 35.40% from 25,205 units sold in the same month last year.

Hero Destiny 125 was one of the standout performers. Sales increased by 76.34% to 26,482 units from 15,018 units sold in May 2025, representing the highest growth rate among ICE scooters in the top 10 list. Suzuki Burgman Street recorded sales of 25,835 units, up 4.65% from 24,688 units sold a year ago.
The Honda Dio was one of only two scooters in the top 10 to register a year-on-year decline. Sales fell 9.18% to 23,814 units from 26,220 units sold in May 2025. Yamaha RayZR joined the top 10 list with sales of 21,403 units. The scooter registered a strong growth of 64.35%, over 13,023 units sold during the same month last year.
Top 5 Electric Scooters May 2026
Electric scooters continued their strong growth in May 2026, with the top five models collectively registering sales of 1,36,639 units, up 48.45% from 92,044 units sold in May 2025. TVS iQube retained its leadership position with 42,192 units, registering a growth of 52.64% and accounting for 30.88% of total e-scooter sales. Bajaj Chetak took the second position with 38,376 units, up 50.26% YoY and gaining 28.09% market share.
Ather Rizta emerged as one of the fastest growing electric scooters, registering sales of 20,800 units, a growth of 80.34% over the previous year. Hero Vida recorded the highest growth of 140.76% among the top five, with sales rising to 20,130 units. In contrast, Ola Electric recorded sales of 15,141 units, down 20.17% from 18,967 units sold a year ago.
