It has become clear to the ED that there are some discrepancies in the statement given by Veena in her last appearance. There is a discrepancy between the documents collected by ED and the statements given by Veena. Recently, ED conducted a detailed investigation of Veena’s accounts in HDFC Bank in Thiruvananthapuram. Before this the locker was also checked. In the coming days, the inquiry will be based on the information received from these tests.
In the last few days, CMRL owner Sasidharan Karta and other officials were questioned by the ED. ED is investigating whether there is any contradiction between his answers and Veena’s statements.
ED sources also said that Veena has expressed her willingness to appear for further questioning. Although Veena had informed the ED that she could not appear on the first notice given to the ED due to health reasons, she appeared last Wednesday after receiving the second notice. ED has also decided to interrogate other top officials of CMRL in the coming days except Saturday.
