
Mini India has launched the new generation Countryman C at a starting price of Rs 47.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV is now assembled locally at the BMW Group plant in Chennai, helping Mini to lower the price compared to the fully imported models sold earlier. Bookings open at Mini Dealership Delivery starts immediately.

The new Countryman is the largest Mini ever sold in India. Compared to its predecessor, its size has increased significantly, resulting in more cabin space and better practicality. The exterior design adopts MINI’s latest design language with a cleaner look, wider wheel arches and a more upright stance. Customers can choose from five outer colors – British Racing Green, Smokey Green, Nanook White, Slate Blue and Chile Red. A contrasting black roof comes as standard.

Inside, the new Countryman gets a completely redesigned dashboard based around a 240mm circular OLED touchscreen that serves as both the infotainment system and instrument display. The new Countryman C is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine Which develops 156 hp and 240 Nm of torque. Mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.0 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 212 km/h. MINI claims a fuel efficiency of 15.92 km/l.

In terms of size, the new Countryman measures 4,447 mm in length, 1,843 mm in width and 1,661 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,692 mm. Ground clearance is 190 mm, while boot space ranges from 505 liters to 1,450 liters with the rear seats folded, making it significantly more practical than its predecessor.

The SUV is equipped with a suite of ADAS and driver assistance features which include Front Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Reversing Assistant, Attentiveness Assistant and Speed Warning. Additional safety equipment includes six airbags, dynamic stability control, cornering brake control, tire pressure monitoring system, active pedestrian protection, intelligent emergency call and an integrated spare wheel. The Countryman has also achieved a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating.
