Despite losing his starting place to Nathaniel Brown, David Raum welcomes competition for Germany’s left-back slot.
Raum praised his compatriot Brown, telling Sky Germany, “He had a great season, even though Eintracht Frankfurt struggled.”
“He has struggled to make his way into our team. I’ve had some physical problems recently, but I’m getting fitter all the time,” the 28-year-old said.
Despite this, the Leipzig clubman comes out as the best team player, vowing to help Germany at the World Cup in any way possible:
“We have a very good personnel at that position. The team can count on me even if I’m not playing. So the coach has a lot of options.”
