
Apart from the concepts, MG will also showcase its existing PHEV, hybrid and electric models at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Under the leadership of SAIC, MG Motor is rapidly emerging as a major disruptor in the hybrid and BEV segments across Europe. To showcase its power and potential, MG has made regular appearances at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This year, MG’s primary attractions at the event will include two new electric concepts. There are plans for full commercial production of both of these.
Teaser of MG’s new subcompact EV released
Only one of two electric concepts that MG will introduce at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed has been teased. MG has shared two images, which provide a basic idea of what the front and rear profiles will look like. It will be a new B-segment electric hatchback, which will go on sale in 2027.

In Europe, this hatch will challenge rivals like Renault 5 e-Tech, VW ID. Polo, Nissan Micra, Mini Cooper Electric, Cupra Raval and Peugeot e-208. The images posted by MG show a handsome looking electric hatch with smooth, shapely paneling all around. Other key features include a closed-top grille, a full-width trim in blacked-out finish and 3D-style headlamps.
MG has used pixel-style lighting elements to achieve a quirkiness, futuristic aesthetics. The shapely design ensures that the bonnet merges seamlessly with the closed-off grille for a truly clutter-free profile. Apart from the distinctive grooves on either side of the bonnet, there are no other details on the panels. This gives the Electric Hatch a clean and accessible design.
MG has also shared side-rear images of the hatch. It comes with features like a slightly tapered roofline, a roof-mounted rear spoiler, a raked windshield and pointed tail lamps with pixel-style lighting elements. For greater effect, MG logo placed on the rear pillar. Some really attractive color options are expected to be offered with this electric hatch.
New aspirational model, interactive robot display
MG has not revealed any specific details about the second concept which will be unveiled at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed. For now, MG has only said that the concept is an electric design vision. It is positioned as an ambitious upcoming model that will help expand MG’s portfolio. It’s possible that MG may release some images of this concept ahead of its debut on July 9, 2026. both concepts will be Unveiled by Jozef Caban on July 9 at 11 amGlobal Design Vice President of MG.
As in previous years, MG will be showcasing a number of its existing PHEV, hybrid+ and electric vehicles at the Goodwood event. These include the all-new MGS9 PHEV, which is the brand’s first seven-seat SUV. Other MG cars showcased at the event include the high-end electric MG iM5, the all-new MG4 EV Urban, the MG HS PHEV, the popular MG ZS Hybrid+ and the attractive MG Cyberster convertible.
Selected MG cars will also participate in this 2026 hill climb circuit event at Goodwood. These cars will include PHEVs and BEVs like MGS9 PHEV, MGS6 EV and MG Cyberster. To showcase its technological capabilities, MG will also host special events featuring its interactive robots. The 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed will be held from 9 July to 12 July.
