
Maruti Suzuki reported strong sales growth in May 2026, with total domestic sales at 1,90,337 units. This represents an increase of 39.99% compared to 1,35,962 units sold in May 2025. The company’s volume growth was driven by strong demand for the Dezire, FrontX, Baleno, Ertiga, WagonR and Victorious.
Maruti Sales Breakup May 2026
Dezire emerged as Maruti Suzuki’s best-selling model with sales of 24,546 units in May 2026. Compared to 18,084 units sold in May 2025, sales increased by 35.73%, which translated into an additional 6,462 units. Dezire accounted for 12.9% of Maruti’s total sales during the month. The compact sedan registered a month-on-month growth of 4.1% compared to April 2026, when it sold 23,580 units.

Frontex took the second position with 20,686 units, registering a healthy growth of 52.28% YoY. It was followed by Ertiga at 20,350 units, which is 26.08% more than a year ago. Baleno continued its strong performance with 18,396 units registering 58.34% YoY growth. WagonR and Swift also remained among the volume drivers of the brand with sales of 18,076 units and 17,519 units respectively.
The Victoris recorded sales of 10,853 units in its first full year of sales, contributing 5.7% to Maruti’s total volumes. While sales declined by 20.79% compared to April 2026, the Victoris still managed to enter the list of Maruti’s top 10 best-selling models. Launched in September last year, total sales of Victoris have now crossed the 1 lakh mark in 9 months.

In Maruti’s SUV portfolio, the Frontex continued to shine with sales of over 20,000 units. Grand Vitara also recorded an impressive growth of 80.22%, with sales rising to 9,366 units from 5,197 units a year ago. However, the Brezza saw a decline of 13.75%, falling from 15,566 units in May 2025 to 13,425 units in May 2026. Jimny sales also fell by 24.34% to 516 units.
Maruti’s entry-level portfolio witnessed significant growth. Alto sales almost doubled to 9,887 units, a growth of 98.93% year-on-year. The S-Presso recorded the highest percentage growth among established models, growing by 253.71% to 6,388 units. Celerio also recorded a strong growth of 62.17%, reaching 3,018 units.

Maruti’s overall sales grew 1.4% compared to April 2026, with volumes rising to 1,90,337 units from 1,87,704 units. Grand Vitara (+21.35%), S-Presso (+22.61%), Celerio (+31.45%) and Frontex (+9.86%) were among the strongest gainers on a monthly basis. A decline was recorded in Victories (-20.79%), Jimny (-25.54%), Alto (-8.93%) and Brezza (-4.95%).
With sales of around 1.9 lakh units in May 2026, Maruti Suzuki continued to dominate the passenger vehicle market. Dezire, FrontX and Ertiga continue to be the key growth drivers, while Victories have emerged as a significant contributor to the company’s sales volumes.
