Hyundai Motor India has a deadly weapon in its arsenal known as Creta. It has been a popular SUV ever since it was first launched and has practically ruled the mid-size (C segment) SUV sector ever since. Currently, Creta is in its second generation facelift avatar and the company is working on the new generation model.
The next generation Hyundai Creta is undergoing testing and has been spied several times before. There was a new test mule that was initially tipped to be the second generation Kia Sonet, which is more likely to be the third generation Hyundai Creta as the candid spy shots reveal better details. The third generation Creta has been spotted testing again in Jaipur and let’s check it out.

2027 Hyundai Creta spied
What was earlier covered as the second generation Kia Sonet is more likely to be the third generation Hyundai Creta. The wheels fitted on this test mule have also been used by the Kia Seltos test mules, leading to speculations of it being the second generation Kia Sonet. But recent spy shots show the dimensions better, suggesting it’s bigger than the sub-4 meter Sonet.
Additionally, we can also see finer details that make this SUV look like a third-generation Creta rather than a second-generation Sonet. Correlating this with the next-generation Creta test mules spied abroad, we can see similarities between the two, thus indicating that this could possibly be the third-generation Creta. It will compete with the new breed of SUVs like Renault Duster, Tata Sierra and Kia Seltos.

In the recent spy shots, the upcoming Creta is completely hidden and people are looking away. The proportions suggest it could be as long as the Kia Seltos, if not, slightly longer. It can be positioned on the same advanced K3 platform as the Seltos, which brings refined ride and handling balance with advanced safety and structural rigidity.
Considering that the competition is now offering 225-section tires and even 19-inch alloys, Hyundai may be upping its game here. We can see an interesting lighting setup with the taillights consisting of stacked horizontal LEDs. At the front, we can see a boxy approach with LED DRLs on top and headlight assemblies below them.

new generation interiors
On the inside, the third generation Hyundai Creta is seen with the company’s new Plios Connect infotainment system and this makes it a software defined vehicle. There will also be a new TFT instrument cluster, which is wider and shorter. The system also brings an AI assistant called Glio AI with a modular app market.
Like the Kia Seltos, we can expect the third generation Hyundai Creta to also come with multiple physical buttons on the dashboard and center console. The same trio of 1.5L engines (NA petrol, turbo petrol, turbo diesel) are expected to be carried over. There will also be a new hybrid powertrain in the mix, which is likely to be the Kia Seltos test mule before the third-generation Hyundai Creta test mule.
