Toyota Kirloskar Motor celebrated a significant milestone this week by selling 3 lakh hybrid vehicles in India. The company attributes its success to the Innova HighCross, Hyder, Camry and Vellfire luxury MPVs in the premium sedan segment, indicating strong acceptance of hybrid adoption, especially in the luxury segment.

These cumulative hybrid sales in India, which have crossed the 3 lakh-unit mark, allow Toyota to take command 80% market share in strong-hybrid segment. The remaining market share is held by Maruti Suzuki, which also shares Toyota’s hybrid powertrain technology.
Toyota had entered the hybrid sector earlier than rivals. This, coupled with favorable buyer sentiments and reliance on green mobility solutions, has helped establish the company as a segment leader. The company is also backed by 30 years of global hybrid expertise. Models who contributed to this milestone
It was the Innova HighCross that contributed the most to this milestone figure which crossed the 3 lakh units mark. In FY2026, the company sold 62,586 units of HyCross. Hyderabad sales stood at 35,745 units, while the remaining two models, Camry and Vellfire, also contributed efficiently to the total sales.
