
Hero Splendor leads India’s two-wheeler sales in April 2026 – HF Deluxe records highest growth
India’s two-wheeler market recorded strong growth in April 2026, with the top 10 best-selling models selling a combined total of 12,54,455 units. This was a healthy growth of 25% year-on-year (YoY) compared to 10,05,338 units sold in April 2025. Commuter motorcycles and scooters continued to dominate sales, with Hero MotoCorp, Honda and TVS accounting for the lion’s share of sales.
Hero Splendor retained its position as India’s best-selling two-wheeler with sales of 3,09,131 units in April 2026. Commuter motorcycles registered a massive growth of 56% year-on-year at 1,97,893 units sold in April 2025. Splendor alone contributed almost a quarter of the total sales among the top 10 two-wheelers.
Honda Activa, Shine continue strong performance
Honda Activa remained the best selling scooter in the country with sales of 2,20,774 units last month. Sales improved by 13% compared to 1,94,787 units sold a year ago. Honda Shine took the third position with 1,82,874 units, registering 8% YoY growth.

Bajaj Pulsar continued to be in demand and sold 1,31,031 units, up 6% compared to April 2025. TVS Jupiter also registered a strong growth of 14% YoY at 1,17,383 units. This scooter is continuously strengthening its position in the family scooter segment.
Highest growth seen in HF Deluxe
Hero HF Deluxe emerged as the fastest growing model in the top 10 list. Sales more than doubled to 91,977 units in April 2026, resulting in a massive 121% YoY growth as compared to 41,645 units sold in April 2025.

Suzuki Access registered sales of 70,339 units, up 8% year-on-year, while TVS Apache posted sales of 49,390 units, up 8% from last year. TVS XL100 maintained steady demand with sales of 42,246 units and 9% YoY growth. Honda CB Unicorn also saw a strong comeback with sales at 39,310 units, a 51% improvement compared to April 2025.

Petrol-powered two-wheelers continued to dominate the Indian market with a massive share of 92.17% in total retail sales in April 2026. However, electric two-wheelers maintained strong momentum, accounting for 7.76% of total sales during the month. While the EV share was lower than the 9.79% recorded in March 2026, it showed a healthy improvement over the 5.46% seen in April 2025, indicating steady long-term growth in electric mobility adoption. Meanwhile, CNG and LPG-powered two-wheelers remained a niche segment with only 0.07% market share in April 2026.
