
Sub 4 meter SUVs (B segment) are some of the most popular and sought-after vehicles in India. They bring more space, versatility and road presence than hatchbacks, but benefit from lower B segment taxes (except Brezza) and come at a lower cost than C segment 4.2 meter to 4.5 meter SUVs. OEMs are readying their sub 4 meter SUVs for launch in India and here are some of them.

Mahindra Vision S
Even before its official unveiling on August 15 last year, the production-spec version of the Mahindra Vision S has been tested. While it was speculated to be the next-generation Bolero, the S in its name could stand for Scorpio (sub 4m). It will be a sub 4 meter SUV and has a lot of technology including rear independent suspension. Expectations regarding this SUV are probably the highest on this list.

KIA SIROS EV
The Kia Sciros EV has also been spied for a long time and is awaiting launch. It has been seen several times and would be an electrified version of Syros. Like the Carens Clavis EV, the Cirros EV could pack more features than the already feature-packed Cirros ICE. Battery specs and other important information have not been revealed yet.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift
Brezza facelift test mules have already been spotted testing. The expected elements are a slightly revised fascia, larger 10.1-inch screen, an under-body CNG tank at the cost of the spare wheel and many other features. There is speculation about the introduction of the 1.2L NA petrol into the B segment tax bracket with the Brezza facelift or the launch of a 1.0L turbo petrol.

Hyundai Compact EV
After the launch of the Creta Electric, Hyundai confirmed that they will be launching a premium new electric SUV for India. Testing has begun on public roads and has been spied several times. Taking inspiration from the global Ioniq lineup, it gets a new design language, unlike any other Hyundai vehicle in India. Battery specs and other details have not been revealed yet.

WinFast VF3
Vinfast has confirmed that they will be launching the VF3 in the country, which will be positioned below the VF6, which is currently their most affordable model. Globally, the VF 3 is powered by a 18.64 kWh battery pack that promises a range of 215 km. It measures around 3.2 meters in length and has a three-door body style, which could be positioned against the MG Comet EV.

After launching the Sonet facelift in 2024, Kia India is now preparing to launch the second generation of its best-selling offering in India, the Sonet. Test mules have been spied multiple times in India, suggesting a launch timeline of late 2026 or early 2027. It could bring Level-2 ADAS along with many other features seen in Cyros.

volkswagen tera
After seeing the success of the Skoda Kylak sub 4 meter SUV, Volkswagen India is considering launching a similar sub 4 meter vehicle in the country. This will be the VW version of the Kylaq with unique design and aesthetics, which may be inspired by the globally launched VW Tera SUV. More details are yet to be revealed and the spy shots have not been spied in India.

renault bridger
After re-introducing the iconic Duster in the country, Renault India has announced that their next big project will be a sub 4 meter SUV called Bridger. A concept is shown and said to have been designed, developed and manufactured in India. It will be positioned on the same RGMP platform as the Duster and will debut Renault’s upcoming 1.2 liter turbo petrol engine.

Honda Sub 4M SUV
Famous car manufacturer, Honda has recently announced that they will be launching a sub 4 meter SUV under the name Elevate in the country. It may be powered by the same 1.2L NA petrol engine that currently powers the Amaze sub 4m sedan, which falls in the lucrative B segment tax bracket.

Tata Flex Fuel Vehicle
During the Q4 post earnings call, Shailesh Chandra, MD and CEO of Tata Motors, has just confirmed that a flex fuel vehicle from Tata will be ready by the end of 2026 and the launch will happen in the 2026 calendar year or early 2027. Tata showcased flex fuel technology with the Punch at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo, it can be speculated that the Punch will be the first to flex fuel.
