At the Gravit MPV launch stage in Udaipur, Nissan Motor India showcased a new type of retrofit CNG kit with two vertically stacked CNG tanks. This CNG retrofit kit has just been launched at a price of Rs 82,999 and is a unique solution that can accommodate 7 people with two CNG cylinders in a length range of less than 4 metres.

For its new Gravitas sub 4M MPV, Nissan has recently launched a government-approved twin cylinder CNG retrofit kit, which will be installed at the dealer level. The Nissan Gravit CNG kit has a starting price of Rs 82,999 and is the first example of twin cylinder implementation in the sub 4 meter segment while retaining the 7-seater functionality.
This government-approved twin cylinder CNG retrofit kit will be available at select dealerships in 60 cities across 16 states and union territories. This CNG retrokit is developed and quality assured by Motozen and the kit comes with a 3 years or 1,00,000 km warranty on components, assuring ease of ownership for the buyers.
Unlike the conventional twin cylinder factory fitted CNG setup, Nissan’s solution developed by Motozen consists of two 25L CNG tanks placed vertically one above the other in the boot area. This allows all three rows of seating to be functional, allowing the vehicle to seat 7 people, which may be one of its greatest strengths.
However, Nissan Motor India did not reveal the mileage figures with this retrofit CNG kit. Notable features include sequential BS 6.2 compliant CNG kit and ICAT-approved system, 8.1 mm cylinder thickness for improved durability. The system also features a refueling point below the fuel lid, clean factory-finish integration with well-designed component brackets, an optimized rear seat layout that maintains passenger comfort, and seamless petrol and CNG switchover.
