Renault Kwid, one of the legendary cars in the mini SUV segment, is ready for a major change in the Indian market. The Kwid is set for a major update and is now said to be launched on July 3, 2026. When launched, the 2026 Kwid facelift will take on rivals like the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso and others.
2026 renault kwid facelift
There is not much information about what updates Renault is going to give to its entry-level offering Kwid. However, there is speculation that the 2026 Renault Kwid facelift is expected to share a similar design to the Dacia Spring EV sold in the global markets. Earlier this design change was expected to debut with the electric version of the Kwid.
Now it is being speculated that the same change will come to the Indian market with the Kwid ICE facelift. This is an extensive sheet metal update and Renault may refer to it as a new generation rather than a facelift. We can see sheet metal changes in the rear quarter panels as well as the front fascia, where the new model has wider haunches.

More folds can be seen on the doors, replacing the previous curves, making the overall look more European and sophisticated. Up front, we should expect a new fascia with revised aesthetics. The fascia is slightly flatter than the current model and there also appears to be a flat bonnet.
The LED DRLs are now Y-shaped in the same split setup as before and the redesigned headlights will be placed below them. There is also likely to be a similar Y-shaped design for the rear taillights and a black fillet connecting both the taillights. It gets a new rear spoiler, redesigned body and wheel-arch cladding, new bumpers and new wheel designs.
Same infotainment screen as Duster?
Historically, the infotainment screen of the Kwid has been similar to that of its bigger brother, the Duster. Now that there is a new Duster in India and a new Kwid is coming, one can speculate that the new Kwid facelift may get a 10.1-inch infotainment screen just like the Duster. Previous spy shots also confirm this and it is likely to have built-in Google services as well.

Auto AC, all four power windows, keyless go and push-button start, steering mounted controls, cruise control, rear AC vents and LED headlights are some of the features that Renault may consider offering with the new Kwid facelift scheduled to launch on July 3, 2026.
As far as powertrain is concerned, the same 1.0L 3-cylinder NA petrol engine is expected to power the upcoming 2026 Renault Kwid facelift. There may also be a CNG version at the time of launch. In the current model, this 68 bhp engine is mated to either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT gearbox.
