2026 AMG GT 4-Door Coupe Debuts
Compared to the outgoing V8 model, the 2026 AMG GT 4-Door Coupe sits approximately 4 cm lower, making it a vehicle 1,411 mm long and 5,094 mm tall with an air drag coefficient of 0.22 Cd. The curb weight is 2,460 kg due to the massive 106 kWh battery pack (800V) that promises a range of up to 700 km on a single charge and is capable of charging 600 kW DC with 10-80% SOC in 11 minutes and covering a range of 460 km in 10 minutes.

There are two variants of this vehicle. The GT 55 is rated at 816 bhp and can accelerate to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds. Next is the GT 63 which is rated at 1,169 bhp and 2,000 Nm of torque, can accelerate to 100 km/h in 2.1 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 6.4 seconds. Peak power is unlocked in Boost mode which lasts 63 seconds in the GT 63. With the optional Driver Package, both the GT 55 and GT 63 can touch a top speed of 300 km/h.
The 2026 AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is the world’s first production car to feature axial flux motors (from YASA) known for its compact form factor. Torque vectoring is present with this model and Merc has included haptics to simulate the twin-clutch gearbox as well as a faux V8 sound. To drag the car further down the tarmac, there is sophisticated and intensively active aero trickery.

The AMG Active Ride Control system employs a semi-active hydraulically interconnected suspension system. Then there’s the rear-wheel steering that can rotate up to 6-degrees in the opposite direction up to 80 km/h to reduce the turning circle and then rotate in the same direction above 80 km/h for sharp and stable high-speed cornering. It also has advanced cooling for consistent performance.
