While the flex-fuel option has been introduced in Brazil, older variants with gasoline engines will continue on sale
The Jeep Compass in Brazil has received an updated flex-fuel version of the 2.0-litre turbo engine. In its first format, this engine only supported gasoline. The 2.0-litre turbo engine is only offered with the top-spec Blackhawk trim of the Jeep Compass. The lower variants get a 1.3-litre turbo unit (T270), which is flex-fuel from when it was first introduced with the facelifted 2022 model. Jeep Compass Blackhawk 2.0 Turbo Flex-Fuel – Performance, Engine Changes
While achieving flex-fuel compatibility, Hurricane Flex 2.0 has seen no performance degradation. Output remains at 272 hp and 400 Nm of torque. This SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds. The 2026 Jeep Compass Blackhawk comes with Flex 4×4 traction, which ensures better performance in all types of terrains. In line with Jeep’s core values of mobility, the 4×4 system ensures easy access to challenging terrain, especially in the Brazilian interior.

To achieve flex-fuel compatibility with the award-winning Hurricane 2.0-litre turbo engine, Stellantis’ engineering teams made some significant modifications. The team has progressive experience working with biofuels and decarbonization. Changes introduced with the engine included new fuel pumps, spark plugs and injectors. Modifications were made to components such as the intake system and turbocharger.
This helped ensure that the engine could maintain its performance and strength. Engineers also performed the necessary calibration of the new engine and gear shifting. The goal was to ensure a unique, distinctive driving experience for users. The Jeep Compass 2.0-litre turbo flex-fuel is being offered at R$274,290 (Rs 47.64 lakh), which is the same price as before.

Apart from the engine, there are no other major changes in the Compass Blackhawk trim. This top-spec trim offers a wide range of premium features. The equipment list includes 19-inch alloy wheels, auto fold ORVMs, electrically adjustable driver and passenger seats, Alexa and a panoramic sunroof. Safety kit includes 7 airbags, puncture-proof tyres, tire pressure monitoring system, traction control, hill start assist and electronic stability control (ESC). A wide range of Level 2 ADAS features are available with the Jeep Compass Blackhawk Flex.

Flex-fuel version could boost sales
With a 2.0-litre turbo flex-fuel engine, the Jeep Compass could register higher sales in the coming months. Flex-fuel is preferred in Brazil, as high ethanol blends are generally cheaper than gasoline. Even though mileage may be lower, good savings can still be made when using pure ethanol or ethanol-blended fuel in Brazil. The country gets most of its ethanol from its vast sugarcane plantations. It is cheaper than importing oil.
The Jeep Compass is already the best-selling mid-size SUV in Brazil. has held this position for nine years in a row. The current market share in this segment is more than 20%. With a 2.0-litre turbo flex-fuel engine, the top-spec trim is now even better suited to the Brazilian market. Furthermore, the gasoline version will still continue on sale. In Brazil, the Jeep Compass rivals the likes of the Toyota Corolla Cross and Volkswagen Taos.
