Yamaha recorded strong gains across its lineup. FZ sales increased to 16,852 units, a massive growth of 75.74% year-on-year. MT-15 recorded 9,630 units, although growth was marginal at 1.48%. R15 continued its stable performance with 9,246 units sold, an increase of 29.19% year-on-year. The recently introduced Yamaha XSR added 924 units, expanding Yamaha’s presence in the retro-modern sector.
Hero XPulse 200 saw significant growth, with sales more than doubling to 3,602 units with 112.13% YoY growth. KTM 200 also registered a strong growth of 66.40% YoY at 3,887 units. Honda Hornet 2.0 fell by 10.69% to 886 units, while Suzuki Gixxer saw a sharp decline of 31.53% to 847 units. Performance as per OEM
The OEM-wise performance of the 150-200cc segment highlights a clear shift towards sporty commuters, with many brands registering strong double-digit growth. TVS remains the leader with Apache, but Bajaj has narrowed the gap to a great extent, registering 45%+ YoY growth due to strong demand for Pulsar.
Honda continues to be a steady volume player with new products like Unicorn and SP160 contributing to growth of around 30%. Yamaha emerged as one of the strongest gainers, with its combined portfolio growing nearly 40%, led by the FZ and supported by the R15 and MT-15.

Hero’s performance is primarily driven by Xpulse, which continues to gain momentum, while KTM maintains strong niche growth at the premium end. On the other hand, Suzuki and Kawasaki have seen a decline, indicating weak traction in the segment. Overall, the growth trend suggests increasing consumer preference towards performance-oriented, feature-rich motorcycles over traditional commuter offerings.
