Rohit Sharma Surpasses Martin Guptill to reach a Significant T20I Landmark


In the first T20I between India and West Indies, India’s skipper Rohit Sharma was in good form, scoring 64 runs off just 44 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes.

During this innings, Rohit beat Martin Guptill to become the highest run-scorer in men’s T20 Internationals. Rohit has scored 3,443 runs in 129 matches in the shortest format, including 27 fifties and 4 centuries.

Guptill has scored 3,399 runs in 116 matches, including 20 fifties and three centuries. The average of Rohit is 32.48 whereas that of Guptill is 32.37.

In the first Twenty20 international between India and the West Indies, India batted first and scored 190/6 in 20 overs. Rohit scored 64 runs, while Dinesh Karthik scored 41 runs without being dismissed off 19 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes.

After reducing West Indies to 122/8 in 20 overs, Arshdeep Singh, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravi Bishnoi each returned with two wickets to help India to a 68-run victory.
