After the floods in Chennai and oil spilling into the sea, these creatures were washed towards the beach. Stingers can sting humans
The poison of this creature is so intense that it can cause itching, blisters and pain on the skin of humans. Humans are advised not to touch this creature. However, these creatures are not fatal for humans. Srivatsan Ramkumar, a local and environmentalist working at the Foundation of India, told Newsminute that hundreds of these creatures were washed away from the sea.
Poison remains active even after death
He said that most of them were dead, while he saw some Blue Sea Dragons and Blue Buttons that were alive. Instructions were issued by the Tamil Nadu Forest Department that no one should touch them because they are poisonous. Let us tell you that these sea dragons eat deadly jellyfish. Apart from this, they use their stings to release poison. They often swim together, which is called blue feet. Their poison remains active till their death.
