Notably, the fire engulfed the entire area and destroyed more than six businesses and more than two hundred homes.

However, the cause of the fire is currently unknown. According to reports, the incident was caused by the explosion of multiple cylinders.

Several fire engines from Dimapur and Bokajan, Assam, were dispatched to extinguish the fire. In addition, officers from the Khatkhati police station in the Karbi Anglong district were dispatched to maintain order.
