Namrata Shirodkar reveals why she quit acting after marriage, in response to Mahesh Babu’s desire for a ‘non-working’ wife. He was very explicit.
Namrata Shirodkar discussed her career and why she chose not to pursue acting after her marriage to Mahesh Babu. She stated that even if she had been working in an office, he would have told her to stop.
Namrata Shirodkar revealed in a new interview that she quit acting following her marriage to Telugu actor Mahesh Babu. Namrata, who was last seen on screen seventeen years ago, stated that Mahesh desired a ‘non-working wife’ and that even if she had been working in an office, he would have expected her to quit. She stated that it was a deliberate choice and they were crystal clear.
In the 2004 Hindi film Insaaf: The Justice, Namrata made her final appearance. In the same year, she also appeared in Bride and Prejudice by Gurinder Chadha. Namrata Shirodkar disclosed in a recent interview that she had never been interested in modelling. It was her mother’s request, so she complied. Namrata and Mahesh wed In an interview with a Telugu YouTube channel, Namrata, the journalist Prema, discussed her career and why she did not pursue acting after her marriage. “Mahesh made it abundantly clear that he desired a nonworking wife. Even if I had been working in an office, he would have instructed me to leave. “We had certain expectations of each other,” she said.
“I was from Mumbai, and I didn’t know how I would fit into these enormous bungalows, so we were very clear that we would live in an apartment following our marriage. I was previously afraid, so he moved into my apartment with me. That was my condition for moving to Hyderabad: I must reside in an apartment. He also made it clear that he did not want me to work. We also took some time so that I could complete filming for all of my films. When we got married, I was unemployed, so I completed all of my unreleased films. We were lucid. We had a great deal of clarity,” she added.
She referred to her marriage to Mahesh as “the happiest moment of her life.” In the same interview, Namrata stated that when she and Mahesh decided to get married, “her entire world changed.” She added that “the entire experience of being married is wonderful.” Namrata stated regarding motherhood that she would not “exchange or change that for anything.” The couple has two children, a son named Gautam and a daughter named Sitara.
