In many states of India including Delhi-NCR, winter is forcing people to shiver. But there are some places in the world where it is the most cold. The temperature drops below -50 degrees. Still thousands of people live there. This question might have come to your mind that how do they live? When the same question was asked on the online platform Quora, many people living in these areas shared their experiences, which are shocking.
If we talk about the coldest countries, the names of Russia, Canada, Mongolia, Iceland, Greenland and Finland come to the fore. The average temperature here during winter days is -10 degrees Celsius. But sometimes it falls to minus 30 to 40 degrees. Greenland is surrounded by sea on all sides, here you will see only ice everywhere. skin freezes in minutes
Nancy Blick wrote, the temperature here remained between minus 30-40 for several weeks and cold winds blew. Skin settles within minutes. I live in a rural area. The only recourse there is fire. Water lines freeze. Then they are melted with a hair dryer. If water is not available then one cannot even use the toilet. One has to carry some water in a bucket. There is a snow storm, so you can’t even go to a friend’s house. The car does not start because the battery is almost frozen. Many times it had to be brought inside to heat and the block heater had to be plugged in.
Although snow hardly waits around for the official start, tomorrow is the #WinterSolstice and the first day of winter! With our northern climate, we have truly spectacular winters in #canada, Share your favorite Canadian cold weather activities below! pic.twitter.com/wyWfXahjWS

we grew up in summer
Amber Hasan, who reached Canada from Pakistan, also shared her story. Wrote, I came to Canada from Karachi. We grew up in summers. I spent a few years in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where the average temperature is 45-50 degrees. But it was only after living in Canada that I realized that heat is more important for us than cold. Canada is a cold country, but the houses here are equipped with heating systems. For a few days the temperature had dropped to around -27 degrees and with the cold wind the temperature felt like -33 degrees. This is shocking. At such times the house looks like a freezer box.
