Himachal Pradesh: The NDRF finds a body in Pong Dam and continues to look for another

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) divers have found the body of one person who drowned in the Pong dam lake at Nandpur Bhatoli in the Dehra sub division of Kangra district, and the search is still ongoing for the body of another person.

Three people made the decision to swim in the lake where two people had perished on Wednesday night.

A body has been found, according to Kangra deputy commissioner Dr. Nipun Jindal, and efforts are being made to find the second person.

He claimed that since Thursday morning, NDRF has been conducting a search operation in the area, with the first body being found on Friday.

The person who was with the deceased at the time of the incident reported that the three had consumed alcohol at the lakeside on Wednesday night before deciding to take a swim around midnight.

Nandpur Bhatoli residents Raj Kumar Bhayal (45) and Ranjit Singh (32) perished while attempting to swim.
