World’s deepest underground lab: China has done another feat. He built the world’s deepest and largest underground lab. Has been created, which has been named Jinping Underground Lab. scientists in this Have also started working. This type of lab is not available to scientists anywhere else in the world. After all, you will be surprised to know the reason why China built this lab!
Where was this lab made?: According to the report of The Sun, this lab has been built in Sichuan Province of China, Which is located under a mountain at a depth of 1.5 miles from the earth’s surface, whose area is said to be equal to 120 Olympic-sized swimming pools. To go inside the lab, one can reach it by car through a tunnel. This is almost twice the size of Italy’s Gran Sasso National Laboratory, which was previously the world’s largest underground laboratory.

Why was this lab built?
This laboratory has been built to study the biggest unsolved mystery of the universe, ‘Dark Matter’. At least a quarter of the universe is believed to be made up of dark matter, a nearly invisible substance that does not absorb, reflect, or emit light.

The European Nuclear Research Organization (CERN) says that this makes it extremely difficult to detect dark matter. Although modern science has proven the existence of dark matter, it has never been directly detected. This lab in China is being considered an ideal ‘ultra-clean’ site for scientists to detect dark matter.
Why is this lab built at depth?
All cosmic rays become a hindrance in finding out about dark matter, but due to the depth of this lab, all those rays will be stopped, which will help the scientists to better study this mysterious element. According to Engineering Physics Professor Yue Qian, this place will prove to be suitable for scientists to search for dark matter.
