Responding to this, a user named Pranendra Nath Mishra said, “It is prohibited to carry a power bank in the luggage, it is also called cargo luggage, which is kept in the cargo hold below, away from you in the plane. Can be taken with hand luggage. The reason is that it contains a lithium battery which can explode if rubbed or pressed too much. Due to this explosion, there may be a possibility of fire in the goods kept nearby.” A user named Joysha said- “Airlines refuse to carry power banks with cargo luggage. The main reason behind this is security. This is because lithium cells are installed in the power bank. There is a possibility of explosion when a lithium battery gets heated. This is one reason why power banks are prohibited from being carried in the cargo luggage of the Plague. According to the revised regulations by IATA (International Air Transport Association) in 2017, transportation of lithium metal or lithium batteries has been banned.

Why do you stop carrying a power bank?
Let us see what is the correct answer to this question according to reliable sources. According to the website of Iggigo, a famous travel and tourism company, power banks are not considered prohibited items, however, the rules related to their use are somewhat different. These rules are according to the rules of the airline or the country. Power banks are asked to be carried in cabin luggage, they are not allowed to be carried in check in luggage. This is because power banks contain lithium ion batteries. Which is considered dangerous goods according to the International Air Transport Association. These are considered like batteries, hence they are not allowed to be carried in luggage as they can cause fire due to friction. Many international airlines allow power banks of 100 watt hours (Wh), i.e. 27,000 mAh, in the cabin. If the power bank is from 100 watt hour to 160 watt hour, then special permission from the airline is required. However, if the power bank has more watt hours than that, then there is a strict ban on carrying it.
