This is one reason why power banks are prohibited from being carried in the cargo luggage of the Plague. According to the revised regulations by IATA (International Air Transport Association) in 2017, transportation of lithium metal or lithium batteries has been banned.

This is because power banks contain lithium ion batteries. Which is considered dangerous goods according to the International Air Transport Association. These are considered like batteries, hence they are not allowed to be carried in luggage as they can cause fire due to friction. Many international airlines allow power banks of 100 watt hours (Wh), i.e. 27,000 mAh, in the cabin. If the power bank is from 100 watt hour to 160 watt hour, then special permission from the airline is required. However, if the power bank has more watt hours than that, then there is a strict ban on carrying it.
