Greaves Electric Mobility has introduced an updated version of the Ampere Magnus Neo in India. Although the name remains unchanged, it is essentially a refreshed iteration of the existing model, with a focus on new colors and minor usability improvements rather than major mechanical changes. Prices start at Rs 86,999 (ex-showroom), which keeps it in the same affordable electric scooter segment.
What’s new? mostly cosmetic updates
The biggest visual change is the addition of new color options. The updated Magnus Neo is now offered in colors like butter yellow as well as other contemporary options like blue, green and gray tones. These colors are aimed at making the scooter fresher and more attractive to urban buyers. Apart from the new paint schemes, the overall design and silhouette remain largely unchanged, continuing with the simple, family-friendly styling for which the Magnus range is known.

no major mechanical changes
Mechanically, the updated Magnus Neo remains identical to the outgoing model. It continues with the same 2.3 kWh LFP battery pack, known for its durability and long lifecycle. The scooter continues to use a conventional suspension setup with drum brakes at both ends and telescopic forks at the front and coil springs at the rear. Key performance statistics also remain unchanged:
– IDC range approx 118 km
– Top speed 65 kmph
– Charging time approximately 5 hours (0–80%)

Focus on practicality
The amp retains the core features of the Magnus Neo. It continues to offer a low seat height of 777 mm, making it accessible to a wide range of riders. The curb weight is around 106 kg, which helps in easy handling, especially in urban traffic. The scooter also has a load capacity of 150 kg, making it suitable for family use. Features are basic but practical, including an off-board charger and the essential utility-focused setup.

With this update, Ampere is not trying to re-invent the Magnus Neo, but rather keep it relevant in the competitive entry-level EV space. Offering new colors and maintaining the same pricing, the brand is targeting buyers looking for a simple, no-frills electric scooter for daily commute.
Commenting about the launch, Mr. Vikas Singh, Managing DirectorGreaves Electric Mobility said, “Comfort and ease of riding is at the heart of our product philosophy, whether for short daily trips or longer journeys. The new Magnus Neo has been developed as a lighter, more comfortable and easy-to-handle family scooter, designed for Indian road conditions and everyday use. With this launch, we aim to make electric mobility more practical and accessible to a wider group of riders by addressing real, on-ground riding needs.” Is.”
