
The dominance of Toyota Fortuner will soon be challenged by the MG Majestor and the D+ SUV was scheduled to be launched on April 20, 2026. However, a new launch date has been confirmed for the MG Magister. The media drive has begun and the MG Magister will go on sale in India on April 27, 2026.
MG Magister launch date announced
MG Magister, which was earlier launched on April 20, now has a new launch date of April 27. It is the largest vehicle in the D SUV segment, being longest, widest, tallest and with the longest wheelbase. It has a length of 5,046 mm, width of 2,016 mm, width of 1,876 mm and a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.

The MG Magister will replace the Gloster SUV in the company’s portfolio and will be sold through MG’s regular dealerships. Magister will be offered in 4 color options – Metal Black, Pearl White, Concrete Gray and Metal Ash. On the inside, the Magister will offer both 6-seater and 7-seater layouts with captain chairs or bench seats in the second row.
The Magester will be launched in two trim levels in three variants – Sharp 4X2, Savvy 4X2 and Savvy 4X4. Pre-booked customers will get 5 years unlimited km warranty, 5 years roadside assistance and 5 labor free services. Apart from this, MG is also giving ICICI Bank Emerald Credit Card to the customers who make pre-booking.

New features, looks, equipment
As far as design is concerned, the Magister comes with refined aesthetics with a more modern fascia. Vertically arranged LED headlights, impressive LED DRL signature, large 19-inch alloy wheels, connected LED tail lights, redesigned dashboard and center console, repositioned gear selector and more.

The Magister continues with the 2.0L twin turbo diesel engine under the bonnet and gets an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and a transfer case with three locking diffs. The Magister has 10 off-road modes, 3 driving modes and 3 engine modes with CCO crawl mode.
