KTM India has expanded its popular 390 lineup with the introduction of new 350 cc engine variants for both the 390 Duke and 390 Adventure. With prices starting at Rs 2,77,268 for the 390 Duke and Rs 2,80,905 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the 390 Adventure, the move significantly lowers the entry point into KTM’s performance range. This has been possible due to the 18% GST bracket benefit, allowing KTM to target a wider audience while continuing to offer its higher-spec 399 cc variants.
New 350cc engine – same basic performance, no visible changes
The new variants are powered by a 349cc engine, which produces 41.5 PS at 8,600 rpm and 33.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm. Despite the change in engine assortment, KTM has retained the core performance characteristics and riding experience.
Importantly, there are no visible changes to differentiate the 350cc variant from the 399cc model. KTM continues to use the same ‘390’ badging and stickers, meaning both versions look similar on the outside. It retains the premium status even for the more affordable variants.
Both motorcycles will continue:
– USD front forks and monoshock rear suspension
– Full TFT instrument console
– Same braking setup (320 mm front, 240 mm rear)
– Similar chassis, design and bodywork
Duke vs Adventure – Main Differences
Although both share the same engine and core hardware, their character remains different. 390 Duke (350cc) continues As a road-focused performance machine:
– Lower ground clearance (183 mm)
– Lower seat height (800 mm)
– Light weight (168 kg)
– High power-to-weight ratio (247 PS/tonne)
On the other hand, the 390 Adventure (350cc) Designed for touring and off-road use, featuring the following features:
-High ground clearance (230 mm)
– Tall seat height (830 mm)
– Long suspension travel (200 mm front / 205 mm rear)
– Large 19-inch front wheel setup
Both models get a 14.5-litre fuel tank, maintaining strong touring capability.
The price of the existing 399cc range has increased
KTM will continue to sell its existing 399cc model along with the new 350cc variant. Higher-spec variants like the 390 Duke R and 390 Adventure R will remain unchanged. Updated pricing includes:
– KTM 390 Duke (399cc) – Rs 3.39 lakh
– KTM 390 Adventure
Low entry price, large market reach
With this update, KTM clearly aims to expand its customer base. The low price brings the 390 range closer to buyers who may have previously considered moving up from 250cc or 300cc motorcycles. Also, by retaining the same design and 390 branding, KTM ensures that even the more affordable variants don’t feel like a compromise in terms of road presence or appeal.
