
If you are one of those who keeps up with the automotive industry, then you might be aware of the Mercedes-Benz Vision V Concept which was showcased by the company in April 2025. It was a window into the future of electric minivans with ultimate luxury. This future has taken a production version in the form of VLE Class. let’s take a closer look.

Mercedes VLE Class Luxury EV Debut
Famous German luxury car manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz has recently unveiled its upcoming luxury electric minivan. Called the VLE Class, it is designed as a grand limousine and offers a luxurious luxurious experience and seating for 8 people with multiple seating layout options.

Dimensionally, the Mercedes VLE Class measures 5,484 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, 1,943 mm in height and has a long wheelbase of up to 3,517 mm. It also has multiple wheelbase configurations and the most surprising element is that the VLE Class claims an air drag coefficient of only 0.25 cd.

This ‘Grand Limousine’ is projected for the 2028 model year and will also make its way to the USA. The Mercedes VLE Class is deployed on the new Van.EA platform with 800V architecture. There will be a related Van.CA platform on which the ICE version of this ‘Grand Limousine’ will be based. The 800V architecture also allows for faster charging, up to 300 kW DC.

The battery size will be between 80 kWh and 115 kWh and is promised to range up to 700 km on a single charge. The variant showcased is the VLE300 and it has a 115 kWh battery and a 268 bhp single motor layout powering the front wheels. A VLE400 variant with dual-motor AWD and 409 bhp peak power will be introduced later. The VLE class comes with air suspension and a larger and more luxurious VLS class is also in the pipeline.

Sophisticated design and luxurious interiors
The Mercedes-Benz VLE Class will be offered in standard, AMG Line and Exclusive Line styling kits. Only the Exclusive line gets the plush grille and stand-up hood ornament. The connected LED light bar, adaptive LED headlights with two 3-pointed star insignia, stunning grille with a healthy dose of chrome, chrome highlights on the bumper, plush chrome wheels, flush door handles, chrome window surrounds, vertical LED tail lights and other elements are noteworthy.

Wheel size will be up to 22-inch and sliding doors reveal a stunningly luxurious interior. The middle-row may have a bench, forward- or rear-facing bucket seats, or front-facing lounge seats with calf support. The third row can also have bench or individual bucket seats and are also electrically operated.

The dashboard has three screens, a 10.3-inch instrument cluster, a 14-inch infotainment and a 14-inch co-driver screen. It also features an 8K 31.3-inch roof-mounted rear entertainment screen. The center console is also configurable and one can opt for a refrigerator between the front seats. If not, this area is vacant and the people sitting in front can move to the second row area.
