We recently saw and experienced the new Bajaj Dominar 400 with a smaller-sized 350 cc engine at Bajaj’s manufacturing facility in Pune, India. However, the company continues to sell the older 373cc-equipped Dominar 400 in the South American market in countries such as Colombia and Brazil.
In Colombia, Bajaj offers the Dominar 400 Adventure Edition (Dominar 400 Terra), which is priced slightly higher than the standard model and is identical to the model offered in India (except for the 373 cc engine). The Adventure Edition not only offers unique aesthetics but also comes with a few more enhancements to justify the word Adventure present in its name.
Bajaj Dominar 400 Adventure Edition
The Dominar 400 has been one of the lowest rated motorcycles on sale in India. It is marketed as a power cruiser and in its latest version, comes with a number of factory-fitted touring accessories as standard. In Colombia, there is an Adventure Edition (Dominar 400 Terra) version of the Dominar 400 with unique features, which we wish Bajaj Auto would consider launching in India.

Enhancing its power cruiser aesthetics, the Bajaj Dominar 400 Adventure Edition comes with unique colors. In Colombia, the Dominar 400 is offered in Terra edition with Brown color and Touring edition with Sparkling Black color. This Dominar 400 Terra is the version which is being called Adventure Edition and some people also call it Dominar 400 Terra.
The Dominar 400 Terra brings additional unique topological graphics on the body panels covering the fuel tank and rear sub frame. There’s also 400 branding below these topological graphics, which the standard or Touring versions don’t get.
Versatility added
Apart from the aesthetics of the brown color and topological graphics, there are also functional upgrades in the Dominar 400 Adventure Edition to make it more versatile. For starters, it gets an additional saddle stay above the rear luggage rack to accommodate saddle bags. This should be attractive to buyers who want to make frequent trips on their Dominar 400.

The Adventure Edition (Dominar 400 Terra) also gets block pattern tires which enhance the rough road capability of the bike. If there was a certain trail that the stock tires couldn’t handle, these block pattern tires come in handy. In India, we don’t get block pattern tires and the latest iteration gets 110-section front and 150-section rear MRF REVZ street tyres.
In Colombia, the Bajaj Dominar 400 comes with a 373cc engine, but the power figures are lower than the new 350cc engine in the India-spec model while the torque is higher. The Colombia has 39.43 PS and 35 Nm, while the India has 40.6 PS and 33.2 Nm. Slipper clutch and 6-speed gearbox are standard.
