It’s going to be a very hot day in the Vancouver area – despite snow still visible in the mountains overlooking the city.
Mist-sprayers have been installed in the spectator areas to provide fans relief from the heat.
On Grouse Mountain overlooking the city to the north, a giant Canadian flag is draped over the bottom of the ski slope.
According to organizers, this flag is actually the largest Canadian flag ever built, and is approximately the size of two football fields.
“This is a moment that can be seen not only from the mountain, but from across the city, from the sky, and from around the world,” Adam Rutman, director of marketing for Grouse Mountain Resort, said in a statement.
“As Vancouver welcomes international visitors, we wanted to throw our support behind the home team in a way that is truly unforgettable.”
