
After taking a look at the top 10 scooter sales last month, let’s now take a look at the top 10 motorcycles. In May 2026, the top 10 motorcycles recorded sales of 9,02,658 units, registering a marginal growth of 1.94% compared to 8,85,467 units sold in May 2025. While commuter motorcycles continued to dominate volumes, Royal Enfield’s premium motorcycles recorded healthy growth, reflecting strong demand across all segments.
Top 10 Motorcycles May 2026
Hero Splendor retained its position as India’s best-selling motorcycle with sales of 3,48,115 units in May 2026. Sales improved by 12.17% year-on-year, resulting in an increase of 37,780 units compared to the same month last year. Splendor alone accounted for 38.57% of total motorcycle sales. Honda Shine took the second position with 1,55,441 units, although sales declined marginally by 1.79% compared to 1,58,271 units sold a year ago.

Bajaj Pulsar remained in the top three with 1,24,270 units, registering a marginal growth of 1.73% compared to May 2025. Pulsar’s share stood at 13.77%, maintaining its position as the country’s best-selling sports commuter motorcycle lineup. Among the best-selling motorcycles, Hero HF Deluxe saw the biggest decline in sales. Sales fell 38.09% to 66,722 units from 1,07,768 units sold in May 2025. Despite the steep decline, it remained the fourth best selling motorcycle in the country.
TVS Apache continued its positive momentum with sales of 53,900 units registering a growth of 9.78% over last year. The Apache range has maintained its position as one of the strongest performers in the premium commuter segment. Honda CB Unicorn also recorded good profits, with sales rising 22.05% to 34,925 units. The motorcycle continues to be in strong demand among buyers looking for a reliable premium commuter.

TVS Raider registered a marginal decline of 1.55% at 34,852 units as compared to May 2025. Royal Enfield saw healthy demand for its 350cc motorcycles. The Classic 350 recorded sales of 34,594 units, an increase of 20.84% over the previous year. This motorcycle secured eighth place in the overall ranking.
Bullet 350 emerged as one of the fastest growing motorcycles in the top ten, registering sales of 23,372 units. It increased by 35.26% compared to May 2025, helping it gain the tenth position on the sales chart. Meanwhile, Bajaj Platina recorded sales of 26,467 units, down 5.20% year-on-year.

Motorcycle segment maintains leadership
Despite the rapid growth of scooters, motorcycles continue to dominate the Indian two-wheeler market. According to industry data, motorcycle sales stood at 11,13,973 units in May 2026, which is 58.56% of total two-wheeler sales. The segment registered a growth of 7.20% year-on-year and retained its position as the largest category in the domestic two-wheeler market.
The latest sales data shows that while commuter motorcycles are driving the bulk of production, premium offerings like the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Bullet 350 and TVS Apache are steadily increasing their share, indicating a growing appetite for high-end motorcycles among Indian buyers.
