
New car launches this month include a good mix of ICE, hybrid and pure electric models
Car buyers can expect some exciting new launches in June 2026. The options look as good as they did in May, when cars like the Honda City facelift and Tiago/EV facelift were launched. We also saw the launch of MG’s new flagship Magister, the BMW M440i Convertible, and special editions of the Mercedes GLE and GLS and Mini Cooper S. In June 2026, brands in focus include BMW, Mercedes-Benz, BYD, Honda and Tata.

New electric car will be launched in June 2026
Sierra EV – This year Tata will launch Sierra EV and Safari EV. The Sierra EV is expected to debut in June 2026. Compared to the ICE version, the Sierra EV will have a different front fascia. Key features include a closed-top grille and updated bumper design. Both RWD and AWD options will be available with the Sierra EV. Real world range may exceed 500 km. The Sierra EV will take on rivals like the Mahindra BE6, Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti Evitara, Toyota Abella and the MG ZS EV.

New hybrid car will be launched in June 2026
BYD PHEV – As part of plans to expand its India portfolio, BYD will launch its first PHEV model here. Launch is scheduled for 9 June 2026. The exact model has not been officially confirmed, but it may be the Ato 2 DM-i or the Sealion 6 DM-i.
In global markets, the Atto 2 PHEV uses a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine in combination with a 7.8 kWh or 18 kWh battery pack. The combined range is 928 km and 998 km respectively. The Cyl 6 has engine options of 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol. Battery pack options for the Sealion 6 include 18.3 kWh and 26.6 kWh. Best combined range is up to 1,092 km.

Honda ZR-V – It was unveiled last month and prices are expected to be announced in June 2026. The Honda ZR-V will be imported into India via the CBU route. The SUV has a strong hybrid powertrain, consisting of a 141 PS 2.0-litre petrol engine. The power output combined with the electric motor is 184 PS. Deliveries of the Honda ZR-V are planned to begin from July 2026.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class Facelift -Mercedes unveiled the new S-Class facelift for global markets earlier this year in January. It will be launched in India on 15 June 2026. It is expected that the PHEV variant will be launched first. The petrol variant may be introduced later. The hybrid variant uses a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol inline six engine and an electric motor. This setup delivers 435 PS and 680 Nm. Equipped with a 22 kWh battery pack, the S-Class Hybrid offers a pure electric range of approximately 100 km.

New ICE/mild hybrid car to be launched in June 2026
Skoda Kodiaq RS – The Skoda Kodiaq RS, to be imported as a CBU, will be the brand’s first RS badged SUV for the Indian market. In international markets, the Kodiaq RS is equipped with a retuned 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. It generates 265 PS and 400 Nm of torque and is paired with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The Skoda Kodiaq RS has all-wheel drive (4×4/4Motion) with torque vectoring as standard.

BMW X6 M60i – It is expected to take place in June 2026, although the exact launch date has not been revealed. The BMW X6 M60i will be equipped with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 mild-hybrid petrol engine. It generates 523 PS and 750 Nm of torque and is paired with an 8-speed AT transmission. The BMW X6 M60i has an AWD setup. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited at 250 km/h.

mini countryman c – This will be the first Countryman model to be produced locally. Mini already offers the Countryman Electric and Countryman JCW ALL4 in India. The Countryman C is expected to use a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which produces around 136 PS and 230 Nm. The subcompact premium crossover SUV is expected to get FWD and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
