Abhijeet Deepak, a student of America’s Boston University, started the Cockroach Janata Party on social media a few weeks ago.
Within a week, the number of Instagram followers of this party crossed 2 crores. BJP, which claims to be the world’s largest party, has less than half the number of followers on Instagram. While this party has 2 crore followers, BJP has about 93 lakh followers and Congress party has about 1 crore 30 lakh followers.
This movement started on May 15 when Supreme Court Chief Justice Justice Surya Kant made some remarks during the hearing of a case.
During the hearing of the case, Justice Surya Kant commented, “There are already parasites attacking the system in the society. Do you also want to join them? Some youth are spreading everywhere like cockroaches, without jobs and without identity in their work. They are attacking the system by becoming media, social media and RTI activists.”
However, when discussion on his comments started on social media, Justice Surya Kant said that a group had distorted his comments.
