He said, “We have requested that 20 new people be given ministerial berths as the current ministers have been in power for three years. So we decided to go to Delhi by May 28 or 29. Earlier, 25 of us used to go. Now the number has increased, so around 35 of us can go.”
‘There is nothing that says existing ministers should continue to be ministers. We gave him three years. He remained in the post of minister for more than two and a half years and six months. He said, ‘If the Congress party has to remain strong in the state, then a decision on reconstitution of the cabinet will have to be taken.’
Krishna said that the matter of changing the Chief Minister depends on the decision of the high command, ‘We are demanding our rights. In response to a question, he said, ‘You should ask the leadership on the issue of changing the Chief Minister.’
‘The cabinet should be reorganized and we should be given a ministerial post. If not, we will have to take tough decisions in the near future. We cannot let this continue. We should be given permission within 15 days. If not, we have other plans. “We will take a decision on them,” he said.
According to reports, some Congress MLAs contending for ministerial posts are already in Delhi and have come to meet the party leadership.
Last month, a group of senior MLAs had met the party leadership in Delhi and demanded a cabinet reshuffle. Some who have become MLAs for the first and second time have aspired to ministerial posts.
